History
What began over a decade ago as a weekend hobby at NOLA Motorsports Park has evolved into a nationwide, full-circle family commitment to racing. Today, that family extends far beyond the paddock — embracing fellow racers, team members, sponsors, and dedicated followers who share the same passion for motorsport excellence.
Together, we’ve built more than just a race program — we’ve built a community driven by competition, growth, and shared success.
Team
Since joining the Drive Your Line KartSport team in 2023, Derek Wargo’s racing career has accelerated rapidly. Expanding from a successful foundation in four-cycle karting, Derek transitioned into two-cycle competition, road race, and larger national series events — demonstrating adaptability, consistency, and speed at every level.
His performance quickly earned recognition within the paddock, leading to an invitation to join the J3/CompKart Factory Team, where he now competes in premier ROTAX and SKUSA events. Derek’s ability to learn, lead, and perform under pressure continues to position him as one of the most promising young drivers in North American karting.
Focus
With a strong focus on personal skill development, race craft, and expanding digital reach, Derek Wargo Racing is committed to growing both on the track and across social media — representing our partners, sponsors, and teams with professionalism and purpose.
Derek’s next-level commitment doesn’t stop at the pit gate. Off the track, he is an Advanced Academy student at Patrick F. Taylor Science and Technology Academy, maintaining a 4.50 GPA while pursuing an accelerated academic track to graduate a year early. His work ethic, focus, and leadership reflect the same drive that fuels his racing career — excellence through dedication, education, and effort.
Our Mission
While karting will always be Derek’s first love in motorsport, his ambition extends far beyond single-cylinder competition. With a solid foundation in karting and national-level experience, Derek is preparing to take the next step toward professional auto racing.
Beginning in October 2025, plans are underway — in partnership with Motorsports Talent Development, the sister company of Drive Your Line KartSport — for Derek to begin advanced driver training through the FARA Academy with TLM USA Racing, based in Miami, Florida. This transition marks an exciting new phase in Derek’s journey as he continues to build the technical, physical, and mental skills required for the next tier of motorsport competition.
